Welcome from the Principal
Introduction
Greetings!
It is with great pleasure that I serve as the principal of St. Louis Park High School. Building collaborative school and community partnerships is the foundation of learning and I hope to get to know our students and families. In alignment with the SLP mission, vision, and core values it is our charge to hold high social and academic expectations, build long lasting relationships, and create safe spaces for students to show up as their authentic selves.
Our team is committed to creating an educational experience that highlights the brilliance of our students. We believe in a balanced approach to learning that focuses both on the social-emotional well-being of our students while providing each student access and opportunity to equitable and inclusive curriculum and instruction. We strive to lift the level of student voice and choice in the classroom by providing culturally relevant instruction and pedagogy, allowing students to see their value and contributions inside and out of the classroom.
I grew up in Richfield, MN just southeast of St. Louis Park. I attended the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees in education and educational leadership respectively. My experience in education include elementary school teacher, instructional coach, high school assistant principal and middle school principal. In my free time I enjoy family movie nights and Vikings football. My husband and I have two children and two dogs. We love to spend time outside being active.
My hope is that we lean into the strengths of each other and build a community of life-long learners. I view learning as a reciprocal process, one where we bring unique and valuable perspectives to be shared and celebrated with one another. I look forward to learning and growing with you all.
Take care, be well, and GO PARK!
