The College and Career Readiness program at St. Louis Park High School launched a new Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) class during the 2021-22 school year. Students get professional training in a high school class while learning everything they need to know to become CNAs. The value of the training? Priceless. The cost to students? Free!
The Career Pathways Advisory Executive Board partnered with community volunteers and the city fire department to create the program. It's an innovative way to address the city's severe CNA shortage while helping SLP students prepare for careers in healthcare and earn competitive wages.
