Advanced Placement

Advanced Placement (AP) offers more than 30 college-level courses in subjects such as English, history, humanities, languages, math, psychology and science.

The focus is not on memorizing facts and figures, but instead on engaging discussions, approaching and solving problems together, and learning to write well.

AP classes are more rigorous than high school classes and scoring well on AP exams may allow you to earn college credit, advanced placement or both, possibly saving you thousands of dollars.

AP exams are scored from 1 to 5 with 5 the highest score. Many colleges give credit or advanced placement with a score of 3 or better.

AP exams are given in May. There’s an exam fee but reductions and subsidies are available to students with financial need. SLP Offers the following courses:
