Learning Lab

The Learning Lab is a place for all students to obtain academic support, guidance, and enrichment. Staff is available during school hours to assist with writing, math, AP, IB, conflict resolution and much more.

Resources Available

  • HAP: A program designed to encourage and motivate students to achieve their highest level of success. Working with teachers, counselors and parents, HAP is a support system for students throughout their high school career. Contact Lee-Ann Stephens:

  • STEM Center: Staffed by a STEM-focused tutor, open for all students during school hours, as well as during the Orioles’ Nest After Hours, 3:30pm-5:30pm.

  • EDMENTUM: Available to invited students and is a standards-based online learning program, designed to provide students credit recovery opportunities. EDMENTUM provides courses in a wide range of core subjects and electives. Courses consist of integrated assessment; including pretests that allow learners to skip content they have already mastered and focus on the concepts that need additional work.   • Writing Center:  Staffed by an English-focused tutor, and is open for all students during school hours, as well as during the Orioles’ Nest After Hours, 3:30pm-5:30pm.

More Academic Support Information

  • Schedule Changes & Registration: Your student's grade level counselor assists with registration for classes and schedule changes. 

  • College & Career Readiness Program: This program assists students in developing their individual career/post-secondary education plan and helps them navigate the process. The CCR website is full of resources for any post-high school planning and the CCR Center is located in B220. 

  • College Possible: This is a nonprofit organization working with students beginning sophomore year to offer academic social and financial support to low-income students as they prepare to apply, attend, and graduate from Bachelor Degree Institutions. 

  • Multilingual Learners (ML): ML students receive specialized instruction. Qualified students whose primary language is not English receive additional support in instruction of academic English. This instruction assists ML students in acquiring skills that enhance their learning and progress in school. Interpretation and translation services are provided as families require them, enabling the parents to have an active role in supporting their child's education. 

  • Tutoring Resource Book is available in the Counseling Office with a collection of names of individuals as well as agencies that offer tutoring services The Counseling Office is open daily from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. in Room A205.
