As an educational theatre program, our goal is to provide a variety of theatrical learning experiences—both in performance and technical production—through a breadth of dramatic styles. To this end, the genre, size, and structure vary by production. While we strive to build our program by increasing its numbers, we also work to build the program by improving the quality of the learning experience, as a whole.
St. Louis Park High School Theatre Presents: The Women of Lockerbie
Deborah Brevoort’s play depicts the power of community in the face of tragedy. In 1988, a terrorist attack struck down Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, killing all 259 people on board and 11 in the town below. Years later, when the American government finishes its investigation and plans to destroy the remaining evidence, the local women of Lockerbie unite to return the victims’ personal effects to their loved ones. An American couple, desperate to find their son’s missing remains, encounter the women, whose compassion helps them finally begin to heal.
Performances of The Women of Lockerbie are January 15 and 16 at 7:00 pm and January 17 at 2:00 pm. All performances will be held in the High School auditorium, located along the West 33rd Street entrance. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens, and free with a student ID for all SLPHS students. Purchase tickets at https://gopark.
