Course Catalog & Registration Resources

Students explore commercial, industrial, residential, public works, and institutional technologies to help them understand construction careers. Through hands-on projects, students learn proper safety procedures for tools and machinery, while exploring pre-construction and construction processes and investigating evolving technologies. Students will work on an actual construction project in class and will have guest speakers and a field trip throughout the semester. If you have any curiosity or interest in a career in the building trades, this class is for you.

Students will learn the safe operations of power tools, finishing, and other aspects associated with the career field of woodworking. Students build projects like checkerboards, cutting boards, clocks, souvenir baseball bats, longboards, or other various choice projects. All projects can be personalized with our laser engraver for CNC machines.

Beginning strings is a multi-grade music class open to all students. Students will have the opportunity to learn how to play the violin, viola, cello, and bass before selecting their main instrument. The focuses of this class are: to develop instrumental skills, develop foundational music knowledge, and exploring who we are as a musician. Throughout the year there will be performance opportunities for students to showcase the skills they developed in this course.

Whether you’ve taken private instrumental lessons for 12 years or just like to noodle on an old guitar in your room, you’ve probably wondered why some songs, sets of chords, rhythms and melodies sound amazing while others don’t. In this class, you’ll learn why and how! We will listen to, analyze, and compose music in many different styles and genres, developing our skills around the language of rhythm and meter, chords, scales and tonalities, and intervals. 

Video Production is an introduction to the world of non-fiction video production. Students will learn to employ video as a creative tool for documentary storytelling, create a school-wide announcement show, conduct long-form/two camera interviews, produce video features and create videos for competition.

This class is a broad introduction to the field of cybersecurity that aligns closely with a standard first year college introductory cybersecurity course. 

This course will introduce students to fundamental fitness and movement concepts through fun learning activities that can be pursued throughout one’s lifetime.
