Alyssa Gardner Named Assistant Principal at St. Louis Park High School

St. Louis Park Public Schools is pleased to announce that Alyssa Gardner has been hired to serve as Assistant Principal at St. Louis Park High School. Gardner will fill the vacancy left by former Assistant Principal Todd Goggleye and is expected to start her new position on July 27.

Gardner has served as an assistant principal at the middle school level for the past five years, including at Battle Creek Middle School in St. Paul, and in the Racine Unified School District in Wisconsin. Prior to becoming an assistant principal, Gardner worked as a high school counselor in Racine.

“My passion as an instructional leader is working with collaborative teams to develop a strong focus on student achievement for the benefit of all students and to close learning gaps, as well as developing programming that supports social-emotional learning and community-building,” Gardner said. “My favorite part of my job is getting to know students and watching them grow and mature as learners. I believe building strong relationships is the cornerstone of progress and I look forward to joining a community whose primary focus is racial equity transformation.”

“It is with great excitement that I welcome Ms. Alyssa Gardner to the St. Louis Park High School administrative team. I believe her strengths as an instructional leader and her work as an advocate for equity and inclusion will compliment our SLP community,” High School Principal LaNisha Paddock said. “Ms. Gardner comes to us with a variety of experience in education, allowing her to place students at the center of her work.”

A second assistant principal position formerly held by Jessica Busse remains open at St. Louis Park High School and is expected to be filled soon.
